Hawai‘i Academy of Recording Arts (HARA) - The Academy is a nonprofit organization formed in 1982 to stimulate interest in the local recording industry and the music of Hawai'i. The HARA traces its origins back to Hawaiian radio KCCN who organized the 1st Annual Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards in 1978. Academy highlights its year by producing the Nā Hōkū Hanohano honoring the achievements of excellence in the recording arts. Only entries created, produced, and/or engineered; recorded by a local resident artist, musician, or technician, released during the eligible year; and primarily distributed in Hawai'i are acceptable for nomination (non-resident entries qualify only in the genre categories, Hawaiian, Contemporary, Anthology, Christmas, etc.).

Hawaii Music Awards - Recognizes artists and musicians living in Hawaii, Hawaiian and Polynesian musicians living anywhere in the world, and international artists who perform Hawaiian or Polynesian-style music. Winners are determined by online voting from a public audience around the world.

American Music Awards (AMA) - The American Music Awards show is one of four annual major US music awards shows.

Country Music Association Awards (CMA) - The Country Music Association Awards also known as the CMA Awards, are voted on by business members of the Country Music Association which are televised on ABC.

MTV Music Video Awards - The MTV Video Music Awards were established in 1984 by MTV to celebrate the top music videos of the year. Originally beginning as an alternative to the Grammy Awards, the MTV Video Music Awards is now a respected pop culture awards show in its own right.

Billboard Music Awards (BMA) - The BMAs have been held annually since 1990, and like the AMAs, this awards show honors winners based on popularity—in this case, based on Billboard's year-end music charts, with awards for top selling album/artist/single in a particular genre.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame - Each year the ceremonies honor a small group of artists for their contribution to music history. Current eligibility rules dictate 25 years from an artist or group's first record release.

American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP) - American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, one of the three performing rights organizations, is an association of over 80,000 composers, songwriters, lyricists and music publishers. ASCAP's function is to protect the rights of its members by licensing and paying royalties for the public performances of their copyrighted works.

SoundExchange®, Inc. - a nonprofit performance rights organization jointly controlled by artists and sound recording copyright owners through an 18-member board of directors with nine artist representatives and nine copyright owner representatives. We have been designated by the U.S. Copyright Office to collect and distribute statutory royalties to sound recording copyright owners and featured and nonfeatured artists. Our board members and staff are dedicated to providing exceptional service and advocacy for artists and copyright owners to ensure the fair compensation for the use of copyrighted sound recordings.

Broadcast Music Incorporated (or BMI) - Is a music performing rights organization whose business is twofold. It signs writers and publishers to represent their music around the world and also signs license agreements with businesses in the U.S. in order to pay the writers and publishers for the use of their music.

SESAC - the second oldest performing rights organization in the United States. SESAC is designed to represent songwriters and publishers and their right to be compensated for having their music performed in public.
